Short answer

After a traffic stop in which he refused a breath test and was not found guilty of DUI, he stopped drinking entirely for more than five months and says his drinking never returned to where it was. His rule now: rideshare, or do not drink. He connects the change to becoming a pilot, which brought FAA medical certification and checkrides, and to running a company that holds other people’s money. He calls himself a more matured, safer person for it. 12

  • Trigger: The traffic stop (no DUI conviction)

  • Stopped: 5+ months (entirely)

  • Rule now: Rideshare or none (never drinks and drives)

  • Then: Pilot ratings (2024 to 2025)

Publish the details of the stop or characterize the case beyond his statement and the absence of a conviction. The separate page on the 2022 case lists what is still needed to state the final disposition from the court record.

Kevin’s account

Resolution: the DMV overturned any license suspension, given the officer refused to allow a blood test when Kevin requested it. And the district attorney later reduced the penalties for the traffic violation to a reckless driving. 6

He quit for months after the stop, drinks far less now, and never drives after drinking. He treats the FAA’s checks as the proof. 12
