Short answer

He is type-rated to fly the Embraer Phenom 300E, a light business jet, as a single pilot, per the Form 1-A. He earned his private certificate in 2024 and his instrument, multi-engine and Phenom ratings in 2025. He says he no longer flies as a hobbyist, because the skill fades without constant practice, and that when the company needs to fly it flies commercially. He personally paid for the aircraft he used to scout markets; he puts that spending at potentially $10 million, an estimate not in any filing. 12

  • Type rating: Phenom 300E (single-pilot light jet, 2025)

  • Also rated: Instrument, multi-engine (2025; private pilot 2024)

  • Flies today: Not as a hobby (charters instead)

  • Paid by: Kevin (no company reimbursement)

The rating

The Form 1-A lists a single-pilot type rating in the Phenom 300E, earned in 2025, alongside an instrument rating, a multi-engine rating and a 2024 private pilot certificate. The Phenom 300E is a light jet certified for single-pilot operation by pilots who hold the type rating, which requires dedicated ground school, simulator or aircraft training and a checkride. 1

Does he fly it now

Kevin’s account

Most of my hours were 20- to 40-minute hops between airports, training to be the best pilot I could be. But if you do not keep up the training pace, piloting is a skill that fades fast. So I no longer fly as a hobbyist. Aviation is a business tool you use only when you are sharp and capable. Otherwise, subcontract it: use a jet charter company. 2

Who paid

Kevin’s account

When the company was a startup, I personally paid for all the plane expenses I used to study the country before acquiring the real estate. Nobody says spending potentially $10 million on aircraft was a good decision, but it provided uncompensated value to the startup. 2

The Form 1-A adds that from January 2023 through October 31, 2025 Kevin provided the use of his plane to the company without reimbursement, that the aircraft was sold on October 31, 2025, and that it is no longer available to the company. The $10 million figure is Kevin’s estimate of his own spending. 1

Rated for a Phenom 300E jet, and mostly grounded by choice. The company charters; Kevin paid for the training and the scouting flights himself. 12

Simply put

✅ The plane

  • ➡️ The Phenom 300E, a small jet you can fly without a copilot if you hold the rating. He does.

✅ Does he fly it

  • ➡️ Not for fun anymore. He says a pilot who is not current is not safe.

  • ➡️ The company uses a charter company when it needs to fly.

✅ Who paid

  • ➡️ Kevin, personally. He says it was worth potentially $10 million and admits that was not a great financial decision.
