Short answer

Lauren Paffrath, 35, is Reinvest’s Chief Managing Officer and Kevin’s wife. She has managed rental property since she was 18, is a licensed real estate agent, and runs property management for the company’s portfolio. Her father, William Stewart, sits on the board. Kevin and Lauren met on a school trip to Paris in 2008 and have seven children: Jack (2015), Max (2018), twins Ella and Claire (October 2023) and triplets Summer, Violet and Jay (February 2024). 12

  • Title: Chief Managing Officer (House Hack, Inc., per the Form 1-A)

  • Managing rentals since: Age 18 (licensed real estate agent)

  • Children: 7 (born 2015 to 2024)

Lauren’s role

The Form 1-A lists Lauren Paffrath, 35, as Chief Managing Officer, and notes she is married to Kevin. Her father, William Stewart, is one of the company’s three directors, appointed when the company was formed on June 22, 2022. 1

Kevin’s account

Lauren has managed properties since she was 18 and is a licensed realtor. Today she runs property management for our businesses, oversees qualification, and helps design and frame our software as part of the research side. She does not post on YouTube anymore. 2

Investors should read that as the company’s answer to a common question about small real estate operators: who actually manages the buildings. At Reinvest it is in house, run by the person who has done it longest.

How they met

Kevin’s account

I met Lauren in 2008 on a school tour of Europe; our group from Florida merged with a group from Ventura. I met her on the second evening, on a boat on the Seine by the Eiffel Tower. My opening line was showing her a picture of my cat. She said she was allergic to cats. We were long distance for a year, then at 17 I moved to California with about $1,000 to live with her family and finish high school. We married in 2013, near the end of my college years. 2

The children

Seven, per Kevin: Jack, August 2015; Max, January 2018; twins Ella and Claire, October 2023; triplets Summer, Violet and Jay, February 2024. The last five were conceived through IVF. One earlier transcription gave the twins’ birth as 2020; that was an error, and 2023 is correct. One of the triplets, Summer, survived a life-threatening intestinal blockage shortly after birth; she later tested negative for cystic fibrosis. This site publishes birth months and years only. 2

Kevin’s account

Everything I build is long term now: the Reinvest structure, the clean 2030 cap table, the stepped-up tax basis my shares would get for my children. It is all built to outlast me. 2

His father

Kevin’s father lives in a home Kevin personally owns and pays for. Kevin describes their relationship as great, and repeats the family rule: no personal debt, no debt on real estate. 2

The person screening tenants and running the buildings is the founder’s wife, who has done that job since before he had a license. Family runs the company; the filing says so in the officer and director list. 12
