Short answer
Personally, by his account, none as rentals: he owns his home and a home his father lives in, both with no mortgage. The rentals are inside Reinvest, which owned 38 properties at June 2026, carried at $63.1 million net of depreciation and, in Kevin’s estimate, worth about $85 million at market. He controls the company through a family trust but shares its economics with the public investors who funded it. Before the company, he and Lauren owned 22 properties by 2021. 123

Personally
Kevin’s account
I no longer own any rental properties personally. I own 100% of the controlling interest in House Hack, which is the only place rental properties are. I do not compete with my own company. 1
He owns the Ventura home he has lived in for over eleven years and a home his father lives in, both without debt.
Through Reinvest
At June 30, 2026 the company owned 38 properties: 32 single-family rentals, four multifamily buildings with 63 apartments and a commercial unit, and two development lots. The balance sheet carries them at $65.9 million cost and $63.1 million net of depreciation, with no mortgage. Kevin’s estimate of market value is about $85 million; that is his opinion and no portfolio appraisal has been published. 23
He does not own the company’s real estate outright. He controls the company through a family trust holding all the voting stock, but the economics are shared with the common, bond and preferred investors who funded the purchases. His own money in the company is $6 million of bonds and, by his account, more than $6 million in total.
Before the company
By May 2021, he and Lauren personally owned 22 properties, about 20 of them rentals. Two of those were later sold to the company at prices below their appraisals.
Personally, two houses and no rentals. Through the company, 38 properties worth $63 million on the books and, he says, about $85 million on the market. 123
