Short answer
He gave three reasons in July 2022: the format had become each host taking a turn on a pedestal rather than a real discussion; it filmed at 6 p.m. California time when he wakes at 5 or 5:30 for markets; and the show’s audience was younger than his and interested in different things. In November 2022 he added that he had tried to buy the channel six months earlier, and was disheartened that its videos had been deleted or privated. 12
Left: 2022 (three reasons given July 24, 2022)
Tried to buy it: Six months before Nov 2022 (by his account)
Videos: Deleted or privated (November 2022)
The three reasons
Kevin’s account
Number one: it felt, in many instances, like everybody has their moment on the pedestal, rather than the chemistry of a real four-person discussion; I want people who watch my videos to learn a new perspective. Number two: Millennial Money was filmed at 6 to 7:15 p.m. California time, and I usually wake up at 5 or 5:30 for the markets. Number three: a younger demographic cares about things an older demographic will not, and my audience is the older one. 1
The postscript
Kevin’s account
Millennial Money’s channel has had all of its videos deleted, or at least privated or unlisted, which is disheartening, because six months ago I tried to buy Millennial Money. I did end up leaving, but in my opinion we were moving in different directions. 2
Millennial Money was a multi-host finance show he joined after his own 2019 to 2020 CNBC Millennial Money profile, which is a separate thing with the same name. The CNBC profile is on the CNBC page.
Simply put
✅ Why he left
➡️ The show had become everyone taking turns talking, not a conversation.
➡️ It filmed at 6 p.m. and he gets up before 5.
➡️ Its viewers were younger and wanted different content.
✅ The postscript
➡️ He offered to buy Millennial Money. Its videos later disappeared.
